2018 Must Attend Annual Events: What’s Yours?

Every year for the past five years we have attended the Florida Flywheelers Annual Antique Engine and Tractor “Swap Meet” in Fort Meade, Florida.  This enormous mid-February event attracts at least two dozen fellow truck campers to dry camp in the field and explore the seemingly endless show and swap meet in search of darn near anything.

If you have even a passing interest in old cars, old tractors, old engines, tractor pulls, or just enjoy looking through miles of swap meet vendors – you’ll love Florida Flywheelers.  You never know what you’re going experience or discover, and that’s how we like it.

Then there’s the shenanigans that go on with the gathered truck campers.  In between the laughs and friendly ribbing between new friends and old, there might be a pot luck supper, a Chinese lantern or two, and a rigorous conversation about where everyone is going for the rest of the year.  There are other things that happen at Florida Flywheelers, but you’ll just have to go to find out.

Just show up ready to boondock for four days as there’s no power, no water, and no dump.  Hookups?  We don’t need no stinkin’ hookups!  That’s the truck camping spirit.

We may not make Florida Flywheelers every year for the rest of time, but it will always be on our calendar.  If we’re in Florida in February – which is like asking Angela if she wants brownies for dessert – chances are we’ll be at Florida Flywheelers.  It’s our must attend annual event.

Here are the details on Florida Flywheelers if you’d like to attend:

This week’s Question of the Week is, “Is there a 2018 must attend event that you go to every year with your truck camper?”

If yes, tell us the event, event dates, event location, and any fee that’s involved.  Some event examples might be outdoor concerts, food festivals, and sporting events.  Just be sure that truck campers can attend and camp on site.  Maybe we’ll see you there!

Please fill out the form below to share a 2018 truck camper friendly event that you may be attending.
